Ronna Moore

Ronna is a remedial, oncology and palliative care massage therapist and works at the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. PeterMac is a world-leading cancer research, education and treatment centre. It is Australia’s only public health service and hospital dedicated to caring for people affected by cancer and has 4200 employees, 700 clinical and laboratory researchers and one massage therapist (for now). 


Ronna is an accredited ALA lymphoedema practitioner, a trained mindful self-compassion teacher and a certified mindfulness based stillness meditation teacher. Like most massage therapists, she has undertaken a long list of professional development activities, learnings and trainings, all combining to support her in providing the best care possible (including for herself!). Ronna recently collaborated with the author of the book Palliative Touch, Cynthia Heep Spence, in the development of its chapter about self-care.

  • Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care (University of Melbourne)
  • currently a doctoral candidate at La Trobe University in the School of Psychology and Public Health investigating the role of massage therapy in palliative care
